| DANCE ATTIRE The RAD Ballet Exam dancers please follow the R oyal A cadely D ance (listed below) Ballet Exam class dress requirements exactly. For other studio classes it is not our intention to have families buy all new items. If you have something that still fits you and does not match our colours you may still wear it. When you go to purchase new dance attire we request you follow these quide lines. Sloppy clothing, hair not tied up and improper dance footwear means that you are not welcome to take class. Being dressed accordingly is part of dance discipline. The studio sells Karen Clark Dance Studio flairs, capri pants, body suits, dance tank tops, hoodies, dance bags and studio jackets. We also have the bodysuits and the character skirts for the RAD ballet exam classes. If you are interested please check with the studio office. Dance bags are an easy way for dance gear to stay together. Please put your name on your bag and all your dance shoes. We look forward to seeing you looking your best. PRIMARY DANCE CLASSES - 6 YEARS AND UNDER Tap/Ballet, Tap/Ballet/Tumble: Girls: Bodysuit (pink please), white tights or socks, black tap shoes, pink ballet shoes,hair back off the face. Skirts or Tutu's are welcome. Boys : white t-Shirt, black shorts, black tap shoes, and black ballet shoes. Tap/Jazz, PrimaryJazz: Girls : Bodysuit, (pink/black), black flairs, black jazz shoes, hair back off the Face. Boys: White t-Shirt, black shorts, black jazz shoes. DANCE CLASSES - 7 YEARS AND UP Tap: Girls: Black flares, black tight top, black tap shoes with tele-tone taps. Hair in a ponytail. Boys: White t-shirt, black shorts, black tap shoes with tele-tone taps. Jazz, Modern Stage: Girls: Black flares, black tight top, black split sole shoes. Hair in a ponytail. Boys: White t-shirt, black shorts, black jazz shoes. Hip Hop: Loose fitting baggy clothing. No jazz pants. Indoor street shoes; our floors are finished specifically for dance. When shoes are worn both outside and on our dance floors, this causes considerable problems. All shoes must be used only for dance and not worn outside. Regular runners are ok, but they must be black and clean. Hair in a ponytail. Modern, Lyrical, Musical Theatre: Girls: Black flairs, black tight top, lyrical/jazz shoes. Hair in a Ponytail. . Boys: White T-shirt and black shorts, black ballet shoes. Ballet Open Classes: Girls: Royal blue bodysuit, Pink ballet tights, Pink ballet shoes. Hair in a tightly secured Bun, with a hair net. Boys: White T-shirt, black shorts, black ballet shoes . ROYAL ACADEMY OF DANCE BALLET EXAM CLASS ATTIRE (RAD) Pre Primany and Primary Ballet 5 & 6 years: Girls: Powder pink short sleeve style body suit ($28), RAD powder pink ballet skirt ($35) available for purchase through the studio, white ankle socks, pink ballet shoes (please no gym slippers). Hair in a tightly secured bun with a hair net. Boys: White T-Shirt and black shorts, black ballet shoes. Grades 1 through 8 - body suit and skirt: Grades 1 through 5 require a royal blue body suit ($32) and character skirt ($54), available for purchase through the studio in September. Grades 6 -8 require a burgandy body suit ($36) a sheer ballet skirt ($59) and a black character skirt ($65) available for purchase through the studio in September. Foundation Classes: Require a navy body suit available for purchase through the studio. Pink ballet tights ($20), hair nets (3 for $2), bobby pins ($1/package) are available for purchase through the studio for dancers that require them. Grades 1 through 8 - shoes, socks and tights: Grade 1: white ankle socks and pink ballet shoes (no split sole) and black character shoes with a low heel Grade 2: white ankle socks or pink ballet tights, pink ballet shoes (no split sole) & black character shoes with a low heel. Grade 3: pink tights, pink ballet shoes (no split sole), may wear black character shoes with a Cuban heel. Grades 4-8: pink tights, pink ballet shoes (no split sole), and black character shoes with a Cuban heel. |
