Performance Company Audition #1 *4:30 - 5:30pm Dancers: Ages 13-18 yrsStudio 1-2st floor Performance Company Audition #2 *600 - 700pm Dancers: Ages 08-12 yrs Studio 1-2nd floor *A dancer that can not attend with their age group (because of timing) is welcome to attend the other audition. All Star Performance Company The All Star Performance Company is designed for dancers that are in their 20's. They are proficient in dance technique. Weekly requirements are a technique class and The All Star Company choreography class. All Star Performance Company Dancers do not audition ~ they are invited. Invitations will be sent out via e-mail on May 21, 2012. Ultimate Elite Performance Company The Ultimate Elite Performance Company is designed for dancers that are proficient in dance technique. Weekly requirements are a technique class and the Ultimate Elite Performance Company choreography class. Ultimate Elite Performance Company Dancers do not audition ~ they are invited. Invitations will be sent out via e-mail on May 21, 2012. Ultimate Edge Performance Company The Ultimate Edge Performance Company is designed for dancers that are proficient in dance technique. Weekly requirements are a technique class, RAD Exam Graded Ballet Class or RAD Exam Open Ballet Class and the Ultimate Edge Performance Company choreography class. Ultimate Edge Performance Company Dancers do not audition ~ they are invited. Invitations will be sent out via e-mail on May 21, 2012. Chosen Performance Company Candidates will have their audition number posted on our web site under the 'Company' button, on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, after 12 noon. Audition Numbers may be purchased starting Monday, May 14 at studio 1 - 2nd floor. Audition cost: $10. Numbers may also be purchased at the audition. *Dancers offered a placement for the Karen Clark Dance Studio Performance Companies will agree to train exclusively with the Karen Clark Dance Studio . Company Dancers should have both Ballet and Jazz training. Additional dance disciplines (tap, hip hop, etc) are an asset. Each week, dancers will attend their technique jazz class (60 minutes) and Performance Company choreography class (30 minutes.) Performance Company Dancers, (excluding Ultimate Elite & All Star Companies) will also take RAD exam ballet graded or open class. We will focus on all aspects of performance, with a strong emphasis on technique, performance ability and showmanship. Companies perform in recitals and are afforded extra performance opportunities. These will include Dance Competitions/Conventions, both in Victoria and off shore - for which applicable additional fees will apply. All company members will require a Karen Clark Dance Studio jacket, approximate cost $80.00. Cost - (not including ballet) TBA - 60 minute jazz technique class TBA - 30 minute company choerography class Dancer Class Discounts Dancers taking 2 classes - 2% Dancers taking 3 classes - 3% Dancers taking 4 classes - 5% Dancers taking 5 classes - 10% Dancers taking 6 classes - 15% Dancers taking 7 classes - 20% Dancers taking 8 + classes - 25% Sibling in Company N/C for 2nd dancer choerography class Further Performance Company Information *Cost of your Audition number is $10.00. *Audition Numbers are available starting Monday, May 14, 3:30pm in the studio office. You may also purchase your number just before your audition. *Performance Company Auditions are held at Studio 1, 4499 Viewmont Avenue. *The Audition is open ~ any dancers are welcome to audition. *Studio 1-2 will be open 1/2 hour before audition times for dancers to arrive, and get ready. *Dancers auditioning should be 8 year of age (however … there are exceptions to that rule. Dancers that are younger and really want to audition are welcome.) *Auditions are CLOSED. Sorry no observers. *All company levels may not be filled. *Karen Clark Dance Studio reserves the right to add or delete levels as required. *Company levels will be determined after audition results have been reviewed. *Performance Companies are grouped by ability along with class attitude, dance commitment, attendance and level of dance performance. A note to Parents: An audition can be a valuable learning tool, whether it is for dance or a job interview later in life. We want every dancer who auditions to feel success. Not because they have been placed in Dance Company but success because they have committed to the audition process. By following through with the process we will do our best to direct each one of our dancers as an individual, while treating them with respect and a healthy dose of praise for auditioning. Audition placements are limited. When a company placement is not forth coming this can be very upsetting to a dancer. If you have a dancer that is attending the audition that would be extremely disappointed if they were not successful, please consider carefully if they are up to the audition process.
