Viewing at stuido 2 is ongoing through the viewing window. "KIX 'N RHYTHM" ~ Shake Down Performance for Company and Hip Hop CREW Classes March 2, 7pm, at Charlie White Theatre. All Company and Hip Hop CREW Dancers will perform in "Kick 'n Rhythm." This performance is a great help to get ready for competition season. We appreciate your assistance and attention to detail. COSTUMES - Everyone please have costumes organized by March 31 Studio seamstresses are busy sewing and orders for ready-made costumes continue to be placed and have started to arrive. Distribution takes time and will start at the beginning of March (or sooner.) So if we get to the end of March and you don't have a costume yet please get in touch with us and we can update you. Please remember having your dancers costume organized is your responsibility, but we are here to help. To find out what is happening with costumes please give us a call, e-mail us through our web site or drop by the studio office. Keeping in touch with us will be very helpful. Please label costume pieces and dance shoes with your dancer's name. DRESS REHEARSAL/RECITAL INFORMATION Our Recital dates are May 11, 12, (2pm and 7pm), with the dress rehearsal being May 1, 2, 4. All will take place at the University Centre Farquhar Auditorium. Only Dance Company classes will perform in all recitals. The list for which Dress Rehearsal and Recital your class will dance in is posted at both studios and on our web site under the 'Recital Bdown' button. Recital Tickets will be sold through the University Of Victoria Ticket Centre. Ticket sale date March 29 . More information will be available in the March newsletter. PICTURE WEEK - Gordon Lee Photography Pictures will start Friday, April 20 and our last day will be Thursday April 26. All Hip Hop CREWS will be photographed on Tuesday, April 24, time TBA. All Companies will be photographed on TBA. All pictures will take place at Studio 1 - 4499 Viewmont Avenue. So if you dance at Studio 2, you will go to Studio 1 during Picture Week. Picture package will be 3.5 x 5 individual and a 5 x 7 group for $14. You may pay for your picture at the time of your photo. Information on arrival times will be posted on the web site closer to the picture dates. BALLET EXAM AND BALLET PRESENTATIONS We have another exam session coming up; between June 11 - 15. We will let you know the exact breakdown of times when we receive them. Dancers doing the ballet exams/ballet presentations may expect to receive their e-mail as to which format their exam will take in April. GRADUATION, FIVE/TEN/FIFTEEN YEAR DANCERS &% If your dancer is graduating grade 12/University or has been with us for 5, 10, 15, 20 years and will be getting a medal/trophy please confirm this by e-mailing Miss Karen at karenclarkdancestudio@hotmaill.com <mailto:karenclarkdancestudio@hotmaill.com> or leave a message at 250-658-0445. NO DANCING Spring Break: March 19 - March 24, (Classes start again Monday, March 26. Easter Weekend: April 6, 7 and April 9 Dress Rehearsal and Recital Week: No regular dance classes the weeks of April 30 (does not include Sat Classes on May 5 - please see below) and May 7. See you at the Dress Rehearsals and Recitals. RAD Ballet classes and Ballet Tech Classes will run as normal during the weeks of April 30 and May 7 where possible. RAD classes end June 8 … then exams on June 11- 15. SATURDAY CLASSES - MAY 5 On Saturday, May 5, All Saturday Dancers will have their Dance class as normal. COMPETITIONS ~ 2012 Competitions are another performance opportunity that doesn't involve all studio classes. If you have questions in regard to competitions please call the studio office. Please keep a watch on the web site for updated information. HIP HOP CREWS - 2012 Please watch the 'HH Crews' button on our web site. It will contain important information about Crews and their performing schedule for 2012. PRIMARY TAP SHOES If you have not already please replace black satin ribbons with black elastic in your primary dancers tap shoes. Or you may purchase black shoe ties, ($6.00) from the Studio Office at Studio 1. Please label all shoes with your dancer's name . COBS BREAD Dough-Raiser COBS Bread, our neighbours in the Royal Oak Shopping Centre are lending us a hand to raise funds for "Studio Life" - a program that helps under privlidged dancers in our community. When you shop at COBS Bread, simply mention to the sales assistant that you are a parent, teacher, dancer from Karen Clark Dance Studio. 5% of the total sales will be donated back to the Studio ... yipeee! Normally our web site can be updated quickly, but sometimes it takes a bit longer. Phoning us is always a sure bet. ---------------- |
